January California Virtual Pinterest Party

First Pinterest party of 2020 is a Valentine and love themed one. There were 5 ladies who were able to attend virtually. I was out delivering the supplies the day of the party but still had about thirty minutes or so when I got home. That's better than last month where I had to delay the party by 15 minutes because I got home right at 7 from delivering supplies. Eek! Keep reading to see what we made and the food too! Here's the link with inspiration that I found for the food and crafts.

Here are some pictures of the prep, of what got delivered to everyone. In the zip-lock looking bags were  the paper heart craft supplies, in the cellophane gift bags it was the potted LOVE letters craft and the purple bags had the wood and yarn craft. Oh, and at the bottom of the photo are the key-chains I made for everyone with their 'one little word' for 2020! Those were so fun to make. Inspiration came from one of my favorite craft bloggers, Amy Romeu.

Here's a closeup of the key-chains. Mine is not pictured (my word is Grow) but we have Disney, Hope, Growth, Goals and Laughter. I am not great about matching up the faux leather with the vinyl colors but I think overall they worked out a-okay. I found the heart shaped key-chains at Hobby Lobby and was stoked to use them for this craft.

All bagged up and ready to go! I used my Cricut to cut the tags which look like location markers and also included everyone's name on the bag tags.

The Crafts!

I had a friend in town who has a laser cutting machine to cut these hearts for a craft I had seen on Pinterest and really wanted to do. Apparently Michael's has carried these hearts in the past but I was unable to find them this year. I'm glad it worked out to get them made! I bought wood from Joann's (1/8" thick) and got 8 made.

Here's how everyone's turned out ~

This next craft was a fun one to put together. I got the best deal on the Terra Cotta pots at Hobby Lobby. 6 for $3.49. I used lollipop sticks, some cardboard and green artificial mossy grass to create the look. I love the one below with the green grass added on top to complete the look.

I used my Cricut with the scoring tool to cut many hearts on some fun Valentine colored paper in order to make these 3D paper hearts. I got some fun beads from Hobby Lobby and buttons from my stash. I think these turned out great!

The Food!

I attempted hot chocolate bombs again for the drink for the party to bring to everyone and well, as you can see, they do not look so great. I tried the cylinder shaped ones in the egg bite molds and they were extremely hard to push out of the mold. 3 broke and 3 were kind of okay although I did have to patch some cracks on the sides.

The round ball ones did not want to stay stuck together, (I think my house was too warm). I filled the bombs with Stephens hot cocoa mix (peppermint), Valentine sprinkles and white mini marshmallows.

The foods I made for everyone (with Tony's help of course) were hot chocolate bombs and the ones you see above were made in an egg bite mold and then in the ziplock bags, were Valentine colors muddy buddy's.
