There is a dual draw string at the top to cinch the bag tight.
I put a pair of my 9.5 size shoes next to the bag for comparison. Not sure if that helps much but these bags are large (22"x32" on the website) and can pack a lot of clothes! My friend has one of these bags and used it on a trip to the hospital when her daughter had to stay overnight. So! Not just for laundry or dry cleaning (same difference I guess) but can be used for traveling too.
