Six Craft Goals for 2026

**This post contains affiliate links**

I have never done a craft goals post before but it was inspired by the subject line of an email I got from a crafty company. It excited me and I was like yeah! I should totally write out some craft goals for 2026 so let's go!

Pinners Conference - Day 1 - Utah

I flew from S. Korea to Seattle, stayed a full day in Seattle then flew back to Salt Lake just in time for Pinners conference! Needless to say, this day was a struggle for me to stay awake and alert but I managed. My 8 year old niece came with me on Thursday (the first time Pinners has added a Thursday start date!) so come along to see what cool products we found as we shopped the booths.

A Day at Pinners Conference in Pomona!

I hadn't really planned for sure if I was going to go to Pinners in CA this year but my friend Helen messaged and asked me if I might be going. Another friend of ours, LaWanna, had expressed interest in going so we worked it out that we would go one day - Friday - do the general admission ticket which let us access all the booths to shop + make & takes and then a ticket to participate in the girls night out from 4-8pm and that included 1 class.

Neighbor Paint Nights

For a few months now, a couple of my neighbors and I have been gathering to do paint nights. It's been fun to work on our skills and try something that does not come super easy to us (well, to those of us who have not been doing this for long). Keep reading to see what we've painted this summer!

Freestyling with Diamond Dotz

I may have to come back and update this post with more photos in the future but I am still super into doing Diamond Dotz, whether with a kit or freestyling. Keep reading to see the projects that have been done lately by myself and Tony's nieces.

My friend Heather told me about a cool way to paint rocks and I agree, it is a fun look to do the paint base layer in this way. Keep reading to see how this is done.

Society of Wildflowers Conference ~ Day 3

Final full day of the Society of Wildflowers conference was Saturday, July 20.

Sunday morning most everyone had stuck around but some were going on the optional Disneyland day trip and other's were staying in the area to do other things but a handful of people (like myself) did go back to our respective homes. There was still a lot of fun to be had on Saturday though!

Society of Wildflowers Conference ~ Day 2 ~ Featuring the Sawdust Festival

Day 2 of Society of Wildflowers conference was a bit more for me in the fact that I was teaching my first class today! So I did not take as many pictures during the conference for that reason I guess, because I am not finding much in my camera roll.

Society of Wildflowers Conference ~ Day 1

I've been hearing about the Society of Wildflowers conference since around spring 2023. I was invited to teach a class so I blocked out 5'ish days in July 2024 and here we are! I am not going to talk about the behind the scenes and being a volunteer, in this post I am going to focus on the conference and what it had to offer.

Craftcation Conference Fun ~ Day 5!

Sunday was the last day of Craftcation! Sad day. I can't believe this crafty conference has come to an end for 2023. Nicole and Katie Mac were up on the stage with closing remarks.

Craftcation Conference Fun ~ Day 4!

My friend Barbara and I. She's so sweet and fun to talk to! We were in the Saturday morning class together about building an organic community. We were probably 2 of the youngest people in the room, lol. But it was mostly interesting overall. I feel again like I didn't learn a whole lot but it was nice to have a chill start to my morning.

Craftcation Conference Fun ~ Day 3!

My first class of the day was to attend this panel of ladies who spoke about brands and how to work with them. I got a few good tips but overall I was aware already of everything that was talked about. Still, it was pretty interesting to listen to overall. Here are some of my takeaways...

- Know what my aesthetic is, what is my core story

- Everyone has a brand, establish it early on

- Tag brands and use their hashtags. They are taking notes. Brand loyalty is important.

- When pitching, present with 3 tiers so brands have an idea of what you're thinking to do

- No doesn't mean forever, it just means no right now.

Craftcation Conference Fun ~ Day 2

I started the day with a Dye-Na-Flow class.

I don't think I've ever taken a dyeing class at Craftcation and this year I picked 2 to do!

Rachael is someone I've met at Craftcation in the past and also while volunteering in the past. She's super cool and talented and I even bought a cute skirt from her that she was selling when I got to the hotel Tuesday night to help my friend get her luggage to her room.

Check out Rachael's website here

Craftcation Conference Fun ~ Day 1!

Like last year, my friend and I went to Disneyland before heading to Ventura. I'll recap that in a different blog post. Heading towards Ventura on Tuesday evening we got to enjoy a very pretty sunset.

Kizik Shoe Design Contest

This is a crafty post of sorts so that's why I am sharing it on this blog. One of my top favorite shoe companies - Kizik - ran a design contest recently and I entered my designs. While none of them made it to the voting round, it was really fun to try and I have more ideas for when they do this again in the future. Here are the designs I came up with...

Had to do some teal and black. I used metallic teal pens to get this look

My top favorite I think...I'd so wear this.

This idea was floating around in my mind. I don't think I love the style of shoe I put it on but didn't want to print out another paper. Owl heads peeking up from the base of the shoe. Kinda fun!

I really loved this design, especially the bottom of the shoe. May I could do that design on the shoe next time. The colors also worked really well together for me.

One more chance with teal and black. This time, a brighter teal. I love when the base of the shoe is black vs. white because here in the desert with so much dirt, white just gets dirty wayy too quickly.

So. Now that you saw my designs, you might be wondering what my obsession with Kizik shoes is?

They are a hands-free option for putting on your shoes. Jump in them, step into them, and off you go. Hands full? Don't even worry, all you have to do is step into your shoes and the heel doesn't crush. I've never had to adjust the shoes once I get them on my feet. They are super comfortable as well and they have a fun social media presence. I'm a big fan also because they are a Utah-based company and I've had a good experience with them so far. Plus! Free shipping always draws me in.

I currently have the Women's Athens pair and am working on selling many of my other pairs of shoes so I can swap them out with a few more pairs of Kiziks.

Here's their website if you are interested in checking them out...

Kids Craft Week - Ridgecrest, CA

This is an event space my friend Sarah runs in Ridgecrest, CA. She does a lot of cool things here! Baby showers, receptions, bridal showers, birthday parties, craft events, and more.  Since the last week of March was Spring Break, she hosted a craft day each day for kids - and adults if they wanted to - in town to come in and craft. I signed up to teach a craft on Wednesday - the sew/no sew day.

Pinners Conference - Pomona, CA!

For the last couple of years I've been able to attend Pinners conference in Arizona. I started out by attending in Utah years ago when this conference first became a thing. I've been to the one in California once a few years ago but this year to come back again! Check out what I got to do and see over Friday & Saturday.

August Pinterest Party ~ Idaho

** This post may contain affiliate links **

I took the month of July off from doing any Pinterest parties since I was traveling so much. We were in Utah until almost the middle of July, home for a week, and then we left to go to Northern CA so I could attend girl's camp and volunteer on rappelling staff - hooray!  I did do a Pinterest party in August up in Idaho, so keep reading for a recap of that.
